We are a dedicated GP Surgery in Old Amersham, serving 10,700 patients. We process approximately 2000 incoming letters plus patient correspondence every month and these have to be read and integrated into the electronic medical record with tasks and actions captured. We use Anima AI to support this process and to help improve efficiencies and detail extraction of data.
We are looking for between 20 and 25 hours
We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented Workflow Administrator to join our busy GP practice. This is a vital administrative role supporting the clinical team by ensuring incoming clinical correspondence is processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming clinical documents, correspondence, and reports received by the practice.
- Review and accurately code information into patients' electronic medical records.
- Identify and highlight significant clinical information, alerting the appropriate clinician where urgent action is required.
- Generate and complete administrative tasks arising from clinical correspondence, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient records.
- Work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team to ensure information is managed safely and effectively.
- Follow practice policies, information governance, and confidentiality requirements at all times.
- Prioritise workload to meet deadlines and support the smooth running of practice workflow.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Understanding of medical terminology and clinical coding.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
Desirable
- Experience of working in primary care.
- Knowledge of clinical systems such as EMIS Web.
- Knowledge of SNOMED CT clinical coding.
- Understanding of NHS information governance and data protection requirements.
