Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Van Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the integrity of deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational abilities, and a strong commitment to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a courier van to deliver parcels and goods across designated routes within the city and surrounding areas
- Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and timeliness
- Load and unload items, sometimes involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secure during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure the van is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during all driving activities
- Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and punctual at all times
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred
- Valid UK driver’s licence
- Experience with commercial driving vehicles is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, demonstrating physical fitness for the role
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Proven organisational skills for route planning and time management
