We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. This vital role involves operating large commercial vehicles to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods across various locations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load, secure, and unload goods using appropriate techniques, including handling flatbed cargo with care and precision
- Plan efficient delivery routes to meet schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and vehicle usage
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery notes, logs, and compliance records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues quickly
- Adhere to all driving regulations, including hours of service rules, to ensure safety for yourself and others on the road
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed loads and delivery operations
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities, including loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds
- Excellent navigation skills and ability to plan routes efficiently
- Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of professionalism
