Kitchen Team Members – Chefs & Kitchen Assistants (Daytime Hours)
Assistant Chef | Commis Chef | Kitchen Porter
We’re looking to strengthen our kitchen team at The Old Glasshouse Café & Delicatessen, based within our award-winning garden centre near Beverley & Hull.
This is a great opportunity to join a friendly team in a well-equipped kitchen with daytime hours and no late evenings.
We’re open to hearing from people at all levels — whether you’re an experienced chef, developing your skills, or looking for a hands-on Kitchen Porter role.
The Role
You’ll be part of a busy but supportive team, helping us deliver fresh, high-quality dishes using locally sourced ingredients where possible.
Depending on your experience, your role may include:
· Food preparation and cooking across different sections (Chef roles)
· Supporting daily service and kitchen operations
· Assisting with bakery items and specials
· Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
· Pot wash and general kitchen duties (Kitchen Porter role)
· Following food hygiene and safety standards
About You
We’re looking for people who:
· Enjoy working in a team and getting stuck in
· Have a positive, reliable attitude
· Take pride in doing a good job, whatever the task
· Are comfortable in a busy, hands-on environment (with quieter periods too)
· Have kitchen experience (for chef roles) or a willingness to learn (for Kitchen Porter roles)
