We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Orthodontic Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing orthodontic support for our Principal Orthodontist.
Who we are: A fast-paced mixed NHS and Private Orthodontic Practice based in Hemel Hempstead.
The role: This role requires an experienced qualified Orthodontic Therapist.
Position: Orthodontic Therapist (Contract)
Pay rate: from £30.00 per hour (depending on experience & qualifications)
option to be self employed if you prefer. (Pay rate to be given by you).
Working hours: from 7 hours per week to start with the potential to increase more hours.
- One day a week (Wednesday).
- 08.00 - 16.30pm other days/times could be discussed.
Start date: September 2026. Upon review and shortlisting candidates, we will perform the interviews (in the next 2-3 weeks).
Duration: Permanent position
Essentials:
- Qualified and registered Orthodontic Therapist with the relevant professional registration.
- Up-to-date GDC Registered and professional indemnity
- Have excellent clinical and communication skills.
- Be able to work confidently with both NHS and private patients - conventional fixed and removable appliances.
- Be comfortable working in a busy environment and able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Be organised and reliable, with the ability to meet targets, deadlines and practice expectations.
- Have a caring, understanding and patient approach, particularly when treating children and young people with additional or special needs.
- Be able to adapt their communication style to suit different patients and their individual needs.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy and understanding when supporting anxious or nervous patients.
- Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team while also being confident working independently.
- Have excellent attention to detail and maintain high standards of clinical care, cross-infection control and professionalism.
- Be enthusiastic about orthodontics and committed to providing an excellent patient experience.
- Have a good command of English (written and spoken)
