Senior General Foreman - Nights - Enabling Works - Suffolk Site based Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
What will you do?
To provide leadership and control of a team comprising, General Foremen. Section Foremen, Junior Foremen and Gangers.
Experience in controlling night shift teams including specialist sub-contractors.
Earthworks experience.
P,Q, and structural concrete experience.
- Experienced in the delivery of engaging toolbox talks Engineering Control
- Experienced in resource allocation and up skilling Quality
- Understands the relevant Business Management System and implements systems and processes (e.g. ordering plant, recruiting labour, disciplinary procedures)
- Understanding of construction tolerances
- Understands and implements the requirements of Inspection and Test Plans
- Encourages ownership within the team and fosters a culture of Right First Time Productivity · Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately
- Experience of planning and managing project creep Commercial
- Understands the specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliers
- Produces and monitors the daily records, including holding reviews with team members to ensure proper record standards are maintained
- Understands material wastage allowances and recommends improvements to save materials
- Working knowledge of the NEC and other relevant forms of contract and able to develop professional relationship with Client representatives
What are we looking for?
- Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
- Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
- SMSTS
