BLACKMORE UK is one of the UK’s leading secure IT asset disposal and technology refurbishment specialists. We collect and process IT and electronic equipment from a wide range of clients, refurbishing and remarketing equipment to extend its working life and support a more sustainable approach to technology.
We are looking for an IT Hardware Technician to join our Remarketing team at our Wiltshire facility. This is a hands-on, varied role that would suit someone with a strong understanding of IT hardware who enjoys testing, fault finding, dismantling and refurbishing laptops, PCs and other electronic equipment.
What we're looking for
The following are the key requirements for this role:
- Good understanding of IT hardware down to component level
- Experience testing, diagnosing and fault finding IT hardware and electronic equipment
- Experience with IT hardware break/fix or refurbishment is highly desirable
- Experience selling on eBay or similar online marketplaces
- Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work accurately under pressure
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Good written English, including strong spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Experience or confidence in product photography is desirable
- Ability to work on your feet throughout the day in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable daily commute to our Wiltshire facility
An interest in technology and a genuine enjoyment of working with computers, electronics and hardware would be a strong advantage.
Your Main Responsibilities
Working within our Remarketing department, your duties will include:
- Refurbishing and preparing laptops, PCs and other IT hardware for resale
- Testing, diagnosing and fault finding hardware and electronic equipment
- Dismantling and tearing down hardware to component level
- Identifying equipment and components suitable for resale
- Preparing products for sale, including cleaning, testing and presentation
- Photographing products for online listings
- Creating accurate product listings across company selling platforms, including eBay
- Ensuring product descriptions, specifications and photographs are accurate and professional
- Supporting the wider team with other refurbishment and remarketing activities as required
The role is varied, and we actively encourage cross-training and skills development across different departments and areas of the business.
