We require a Nursery Cook to work independently within a busy but friendly environment preparing healthy meals and snacks for children aged 6 months -5 years.
Working Monday to Friday appx 40 hours per week (08.45am to 16:45pm ) We open all year round apart from bank holidays and we close for one week at Christmas.
Duties will include:
The preparation of healthy snacks and fresh hot meals.
Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas.
Candidates must have completed or be willing to complete a food hygiene qualification to a minimum of level 2
Candidates should have a good understanding of the Safer food better business manual and be able to keep accurate records on a daily basis and have previous kitchen experience.
Be able to follow and design a healthy menu whilst meeting the nutritional needs of children. This may include children with allergies or various dietary needs.
To produce larger quantities of food to a good standard.
To take control of food storage and stock rotation.
To ensure food storage and food temperatures are maintained at the recommended levels.
To lead any Food Hygiene and Environmental health inspections.
To complete basic, daily laundry tasks.
To be computer literate in order to complete weekly shopping tasks.
Candidates should be highly motivated, work well independently and under pressure.
Be willing to work alongside children and as part of a team at meal times in a positive and respectful way.
Candidates should be fit and healthy in order to fill the physical demands and pace of this busy role.

The successful candidate will require a DBS check and two references.
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
