Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, adhering to all legal and safety standards
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, explaining proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy plans based on patient needs
- Maintain precise pharmacy records, including medication logs, inventory management, and documentation of interventions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to medication storage, handling, and administration
- Support patient care initiatives by offering advice on health and wellness topics related to pharmacology
- Assist in inventory control by ordering supplies, checking stock levels, and managing expiration dates
Skills
- Proven ICU experience demonstrating ability to manage complex medication regimens in critical care settings
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to inform accurate medication dispensing and patient counseling
- Expertise in medication administration protocols across various healthcare environments
