We are seeking an experienced Senior ADAS Systems Engineer / Technical Product Owner to lead the development, integration, validation, diagnostics, and lifecycle management of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Body Electronics products. The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in automotive system engineering, diagnostics, functional safety, product management, defect management, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination while driving complete product delivery from concept through validation and production.
Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Project Management
- Own and manage the ADAS Diagnostics defect backlog across development, integration, and validation phases.
- Prioritize product backlog while ensuring alignment between the product roadmap and vehicle program timelines.
- Drive product planning, budgeting, development, evaluation, execution, vehicle integration, validation, implementation, handover, and close-out activities.
- Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term product roadmaps.
- Execute backlog prioritization based on business and customer requirements.
- Create user stories in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provide strategic and technical leadership across product lines and engineering initiatives.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure successful product delivery.
- Perform project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
- Support Product Owner responsibilities within Agile environments.
Systems Engineering
- Define technical program scope, objectives, deliverables, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Lead subsystem integration and component software-hardware compatibility analysis.
- Author and manage System Requirement Documents (SRD), Sub-System Requirement Documents (SSRD), and Software Requirement Specifications (SRS).
- Prepare implementation-ready system requirements.
- Perform requirement gathering, analysis, implementation, and validation.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams throughout system development.
- Estimate engineering effort and support technical planning activities.
- Develop Simulink-based models using MATLAB (Model-Based Design) and Stateflow.
- Work with High-Level Requirements (HLRs) and Low-Level Requirements (LLRs).
- Support Body Electronics and ADAS system engineering activities.
ADAS & Vehicle Systems
- Work extensively on:
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
- Parking Systems
- Vehicle Access (PEPS)
- Lighting Systems
- Visibility Modules
- Tailgate Modules
- Door Locking/Unlocking Systems
- Body Control Modules (BCM)
- Support vehicle integration activities.
- Plan and execute OBD validation and field testing.
- Perform sensor calibration and tuning.
- Collaborate with Camera, Radar, LiDAR, and Sonar suppliers.
- Support diagnostics and validation of ADAS features.
Diagnostics & Defect Management
- Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with ADAS algorithm teams, ECU software teams, and sensor suppliers.
- Classify defects and determine defect disposition.
- Manage system and software issues across complex automotive programs.
- Lead defect management and bug triaging activities.
- Monitor and update defect dashboards and KPIs.
- Track defects to timely resolution with internal teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Define Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), including:
- Fault descriptions
- Trigger conditions
- Severity levels
- Healing criteria
- DID mappings
- Degradation strategies
- Perform ECU flashing and test bench preparation.
- Monitor, log, trace, and analyse vehicle communication using CANoe and CANalyzer.
- Support diagnostic validation activities using UDS (ISO 14229) and OBD-II.
Validation & Testing
- Lead system-level functional and automation testing, perform software integration testing, Execute validation across Body Electronics and ADAS systems.
- Conduct vehicle integration testing, plan and execute field testing.
- Validate Lighting, Visibility, Vehicle Access, Braking, Parking, Lane Departure, and Adaptive Cruise Control systems.
- Perform verification and validation throughout the complete product lifecycle.
Required Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in Automotive R&D with a strong focus on ADAS, Body Electronics, Diagnostics, or Systems Engineering.
- Hands-on experience across the complete product lifecycle, including Concept, Planning, Development, Integration, Validation, Delivery, and Production Support.
- Experience working on complex automotive software and system integration projects.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and network architecture.
- Proven expertise in diagnostics, validation, defect management, and system engineering.
- Experience with Body Control Modules (BCM), Vehicle Access Systems, Lighting Systems, Tailgate Modules, and ADAS technologies.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
