Looking to hire an experienced therapist or counsellor who is confident working with young people aged 11 to 18 in a secondary school setting.
- you will conduct individual therapy sessions with the young person in their school
- you will be working one day a week for 5.5 hours
- you may do one group therapy session where you will facilitate psychoeducation, emotional regulation skills and be provided with resources to do so (full training for this is provided)
Requirements:
- you will need basic IT skills in order to use the Thrive Therapy and Coaching software
- you will need excellent written communication skills in order to write student reports and follow the procedures at Thrive Therapy and Coaching
- you will need to be a fully qualified therapist, counsellor or coach who is willing to continue professional development
- you will need to be trauma informed (if not, training is provided)
- you will need to be Level 1 Safeguarding trained, hold an enhanced DBS and be Prevent Trained (support is provided from Thrive Therapy and Coaching to guide you through this).
- you will need to be able to develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals
- you will need to utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to facilitate client growth and healing
- you must provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress
- you will need to maintain an excellent relationship with the school you are in, meeting with staff regularly and collaborating to ensure safeguarding needs are met
- you will need to stay up to date on best practices and advancements in the field of solution focussed therapy
- you will need strong knowledge of therapeutic modalities and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Ability to establish rapport with clients and create a safe therapeutic environment
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to client care
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- you must be registered with a UK body
Desired
- a degree in psychology is desirable but not essential
