The Role – Room Senior
Are you based in Kingswood or the surrounding area, looking for a role to progress your career? We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join Orchard Lea Nursery in Kingswood (BS15) as a Room Senior initially supporting our pre-school room on a full time basis (minimum 4 days per week)
The Room Senior will support the Room Lead and team in the following way:
- Providing consistent support in the Room to the Room Lead and team and stepping up to Room Lead when required (when Room Lead is absent from the Nursery)
- Safeguarding children, maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Training new staff, getting to know routines and what is expect of new team members
- Daily tasks and assisting with delegating tasks when required to ensure jobs are done and room is set up accordingly, supporting staff to achieve this
- Sharing ideas and solution to problems along with Room Lead
- Helping to organise and running room meetings, input ideas for discussion
- Lead by example, role model to team
- Support the team and situations that arise on a day to day basis, help to problem solve and escalate accordingly
- Experience supporting pre-school desirable

General requirements:
- To be a professional and pro-active team member
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Support personal development in children working within the EYFS
- Work alongside Room Lead to develop and support team members
- Contribute to the planning and activities for the children
- Maintain accurate records of learning and observations and complete required paperwork to required standards
- Support and develop your own group of key children
- Always ensure the safety and wellbeing of children
- Build relationships with parents, carers and colleagues
- Level 3 qualified or above (will consider those who are Level 2 qualified)
Hours
Full time, minimum 4 days per week on the shift pattern of 07:30am-17:30pm OR 08:00am-18:00pm. Shifts change on a monthly basis.
