Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Care Manager specialising in Learning Disabilities and Complex Care to join our reputable care home. The successful candidate will support the Care Manager in delivering high-quality, personalised care to thopse we support with diverse needs, including Personal care, Behaviour that challenges and Health needs . The Deputy Care Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, overseeing care plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, all while fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere for residents and team members alike.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Care Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the care home, ensuring smooth service delivery.
- Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance on best practices in Supported living for those with Learning disabillites and complex needs.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans tailored to individuals needs.
- Ensure medication administration is carried out accurately and in accordance with prescribed protocols.
- Lead on maintaining high standards of care quality, safety, and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Support individuals with daily activities, promoting independence whilst respecting their dignity and preferences.
- Facilitate effective communication between residents, families, staff, and external healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to staff training programmes centred around mandatory care training and specialised complex care techniques.
- Assist in managing staffing rotas and optimise resource allocation to meet fluctuating needs.
- Promote a positive team environment that encourages professional development and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience within environments specialising in learning disabilities or complex care settings.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with previous supervising or management responsibilities within a care home or home care setting.
- Extensive knowledge of learning disabilities, autism and complec care management, medication administration, and person-centred approaches.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing personalised care plans aligned with residents’ health requirements.
- Experience working with individuals requiring specialised support such as dementia or complex medical conditions.
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards relevant to adult social care in the UK.
- Compassionate approach combined with excellent organisational skills to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively.
