We are seeking a dedicated Joiners Mate to support our skilled carpenters and joinery teams on various construction and renovation projects. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience across multiple trades within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, eager to learn, and capable of working in a dynamic environment. Previous experience in fabrication, assembly, or use of hand and power tools is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist joiner on site to work to specifications and drawings for loft conversions
- Support carpenters with the installation of joinery, roofing, and other structural components
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks to move materials and equipment around site
- Assist with construction painting, plumbing, masonry, or electrical work as required
- Prepare work areas by cleaning and organising tools and materials before commencement of tasks
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Desirable Skills
- Basic understanding of fabrication, assembly, and joinery techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers
- Experience with power tools including drills, saws, and grinders is desirable
- Knowledge of carpentry principles and construction practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, masonry, or electrical work is a plus but not mandatory
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different trades within construction projects

Pay: £15.99-£20.00 per hour
