Amica Care is excited to be opening our brand-new care home, Greenlands Meadow, in August 2026. We are now looking for a dedicated and experienced Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and help create a clean, safe, welcoming and homely environment for residents, visitors and colleagues. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in setting high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention from the very beginning of our new home's journey.
The Role:
The role includes direct line management of the housekeeping team, responsibility for staff deployment, supervision, training, and quality assurance, and close collaboration with the Home Manager and wider leadership team to support regulatory compliance, resident experience, and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, support and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver consistently high standards.
- Plan rotas, allocate duties and ensure effective cleaning and laundry cover across the home.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention in all areas.
- Oversee laundry and linen processes, ensuring safe, hygienic and well-organised practice.
- Carry out checks, audits and inspections, taking action where improvements are needed.
- Create a warm, welcoming and homely environment that respects residents' dignity, privacy and preferences.
- Ensure housekeeping practices meet health, safety, COSHH and governance requirements.
- Work closely with the Home Manager and wider team to support a positive resident and visitor experience.
About You:
You will bring experience in housekeeping, domestic services or hospitality, with the confidence to lead and motivate a team to deliver high standards. Organised, detail-focused and a clear communicator, you will understand the importance of hygiene, infection prevention, COSHH and safe working practices. A relevant qualification or equivalent experience would be welcomed, along with a positive, flexible approach and a commitment to creating a clean, comfortable and homely environment for our residents.
