National Minimum / Living Wage (age dependent) + TRONC currently averaging approximately £2.00–£3.00 per hour on top of your hourly wage
Yamu Yamu is a small independent restaurant in Worthing serving Asian-influenced small plates alongside cocktails, craft beer and sake.
We're looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to join our small kitchen team from September.
This is more than just a pot wash role. Alongside keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly during service, you'll also help with simple food preparation and plate desserts during service.
Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or working in a professional kitchen is preferred. More importantly, we're looking for someone who understands the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, works hard, can spot what needs doing and is happy to get stuck in.
What we're looking for:
- Previous Kitchen Porter or professional kitchen experience preferred
- Reliable and punctual
- Excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Able to work quickly and efficiently during busy services
- Organised and able to keep on top of tasks
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable with simple food preparation and plating
- Friendly and happy working as part of a small team
The role:
- Mainly evening/weekend shifts
- Washing up and keeping the pot wash area clean and organised
- General kitchen cleaning and keeping kitchen areas clean throughout service
- Plating desserts during service
- Simple food preparation and kitchen tasks
- Supporting the chefs during busy services
