Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic HGV Class 2 Hand Ball Driver to join our dynamic logistics team! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with a focus on manual handling and delivering goods efficiently to various locations. Your primary task will be to handle the unloading of food service products and using manual techniques, ensuring that deliveries are completed accurately and on time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where safety, precision, and customer satisfaction are top priorities.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- unload goods manually, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Deliver goods to designated locations efficiently while maintaining a professional attitude
- Assist with securing loads on flatbed trucks using appropriate manual techniques
- Complete delivery documentation accurately and obtain necessary signatures upon completion
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly
- Driver mate will be provided
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, particularly with commercial driving of HGV vehicles
- Strong knowledge of flatbed loading, securing loads, and manual handling procedures
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV Class 2 license
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and maneuvering heavy loads safely
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and customers
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo handling
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
