About the role…
Ipsum Water is looking for an experienced
Lining Engineer (Skilled Operative) to join our growing Clean Water team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on specialist trenchless rehabilitation projects that help protect and maintain vital clean water infrastructure across the UK.
As part of our operational team, you will lead the installation of innovative CIPP lining solutions for lead service pipes within clean water networks, helping to improve water quality, reduce disruption for customers, and extend the lifespan of critical assets. You will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality rehabilitation works while supporting continuous improvement and technical excellence across the business.
Clean water experience is preferred; however, we welcome applications from candidates with lining, trenchless rehabilitation, drainage, utility, or wider infrastructure experience.
As a Trenchless Lining Engineer (Skilled Operative) - Clean Water you will…
- Deliver specialist CIPP lining installations, patch repairs, and rehabilitation works within clean water networks.
- Lead installation activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Monitor all stages of the lining process, including preparation, curing, quality assurance, and reinstatement.
- Carry out CCTV inspections and verification surveys following installation works.
- Interpret CCTV findings and produce accurate technical reports.
- Provide technical guidance and support to operatives on site.
- Ensure specialist lining equipment, curing systems, and materials are compliant and fit for purpose.
- Complete installation logs, curing records, CCTV assessments, and project documentation.
- Apply safe systems of work and comply with health, safety, environmental, and confined space requirements.
- Identify technical issues early and support effective resolution.
- Support the development of junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovative trenchless rehabilitation techniques.
About you…
- Minimum 3 years' experience in lining, patching, trenchless rehabilitation, or CIPP/CIPR techniques.
- Experience operating lining equipment, resin systems, and trenchless repair tools.
- CSCS and/or EUSR accreditation.
- Confined Space certification.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification preferred but not essential.
- Relevant training and qualifications relating to lining installation equipment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience with one or more CIPP lining methods including UV Cure, Steam Cure, Hot Cure, or LED Cure.
- Experience carrying out or interpreting CCTV surveys and inspection data.
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and confined space regulations.
- Experience producing installation records, curing logs, and technical documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing operational team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a professional and positive attitude.
- Flexible approach and willingness to travel nationally when required.
- Passion for delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.
