PACE is a user-led, grass-roots charity founded in 2011 by a group of parents and play work professionals in Camden to establish high quality inclusive play services in the borough. We now operate a range of services for children aged 2-18 years with differing needs and abilities, from all backgrounds.

Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Sessional Play Workers to join our team. This role involves engaging children in creative and educational activities within a safe and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for childcare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster positive interactions with children of various ages. This position offers flexible hours suitable for individuals looking to contribute to community development and children's well-being when their schedule permits. This role provides an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while developing valuable skills in childcare and programme delivery within a supportive team environment.
Duties
- Organise and facilitate play sessions that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development among children.
- Supervise children during organised activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Support children in engaging with a variety of play materials, including arts, crafts, and outdoor activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and their families.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement programme activities aligned with organisational goals.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour.
Skills
- Experience in childcare, nannying, teaching, or similar roles is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities tailored to children's needs
- Compassionate and patient demeanour with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly within scheduled hours while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Safeguarding training a plus
- experience working with SEND children highly desirable
