Health Care Assistant – Zero-Hours
Role: Health Care Assistant (HCA)
Location: Care and nursing homes across Merseyside and Lancashire.
Hours of Work:
Zero hour - Variable hours – Flexible working
Hours will be variable depending on the needs of our clients and your availability. Shifts will generally include:
- Early shifts
- Late shifts
- Long day shifts
- Night shifts
Shifts will be offered based on your availability and the staffing requirements of our clients.
About the Role:
A&M Care and Support Ltd is looking for caring, reliable and experienced Health Care Assistants to join our growing temporary staffing team.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality care and support to residents within care and nursing homes across Merseyside and Lancashire. You will work as part of a professional care team, helping to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
This role offers flexibility through a zero-hours contract, allowing you to accept shifts that fit around your availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful and person-centred care to residents.
- Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers where required.
- Support with nutrition and hydration.
- Complete and maintain accurate care records.
- Observe and report any changes in a resident's condition or wellbeing.
- Promote residents' dignity, independence and choice.
- Follow individual care plans and the policies and procedures of A&M Care and Support Ltd and the care home.
- Work effectively as part of the care team.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, confidentiality and safeguarding at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year's experience working in a care setting is essential.
- Care Certificate is desirable.
- A caring, compassionate and respectful approach.
- Reliable and professional attitude.
- Excellent timekeeping skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to work across care and nursing homes throughout Merseyside and the Sefton area.
