The project: Mace Consult is supporting our client in the establishment and operation of a Construction Management Office (CMO) at St Fergus Gas Terminal.
The CMO provides integrated planning, schedule assurance, logistics coordination, interface management and performance visibility across a complex portfolio of capital projects, maintenance activities and operational works. The function acts as a single point of integration, enabling safe, predictable and efficient delivery within a live operational environment.
The Construction and Logistics Manager will play a critical role in coordinating construction logistics, managing site interfaces and ensuring all delivery activities are effectively integrated into the site-wide integrated master schedule (IMS).
You’ll be responsible for:
- Coordinating construction logistics and site delivery, aligning programmes, contractors and operational stakeholders.
- Identifying and resolving logistics constraints, risks and interfaces to protect delivery performance and operational continuity.
- Driving collaboration, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing to support delivery excellence and team capability.
- Coordinating site logistics and access arrangements across all delivery activities.
- Identifying, managing and mitigating logistics and construction interface risks.
- Supporting the deconfliction of activities through effective short-term planning and coordination.
- Contributing to the maintenance of a site-wide Integrated Master Schedule through accurate logistics and sequencing inputs.
- Improving construction efficiency, productivity and delivery reliability through proactive planning and coordination.
- Promoting safe, predictable and efficient execution of works across the St Fergus programme.
You’ll need to have:
- Experience coordinating construction logistics, access management and workface planning on major infrastructure or industrial programmes.
- Experience applying rolling-wave (progressive) planning techniques to coordinate site logistics, access arrangements, laydown areas, delivery routes, cranage and work areas across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Experience identifying and managing spatial, operational and logistical conflicts within constrained operational environments.
- Demonstrable experience supporting look-ahead planning and production planning activities, including Last Planner or equivalent methodologies.
- Experience integrating logistics constraints, construction sequencing and access requirements into programme planning and schedule development.
- Strong understanding of construction delivery, interface management and contractor coordination.
- Experience operating safely within highly regulated environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Membership of MCIOB, MAPM, MICE, MRICS or equivalent professional body.
- Experience working within the gas transmission, energy, utilities, nuclear, rail or major infrastructure sectors.
- Experience supporting Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and planning tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing, commissioning interfaces and operational readiness principles.
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors within a live operational environment.
- Knowledge of temporary works, lifting operations, access management and site logistics planning.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of programme delivery performance measures.
- Knowledge of sustainability, carbon reduction and efficient logistics planning practices.
