We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to join STI as a Quality Manager. This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis.
The ability to achieve UK security clearance without restrictions is required for this role.
This role is critical within the Poynton Management team and is responsible for compliance to all necessary accreditations. Our Poynton site is well established for future growth, with continued expansion opportunities through existing customers and a strong pipeline with significant orders already secured.
As the Quality Manager you will be operating in a customer-facing, performance-based manufacturing environment. You will ensure that the business unit’s Quality Management System ensures compliance with all accreditation requirements.
Main responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance of the sites Business Management System accreditations in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001.
- Maintain and continuously improve the business assurance and Quality Management System (QMS).
- Point of Contact for all customer quality enquiries and coordinate external audits.
- Support the E&HS Manager and the Senior Poynton Management team in maintaining compliance with the requirements of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 45001(Occupational Health and Safety).
- Responsible for the supervision and continuous development of the Quality Control and Quality Assurance administration team, and the associated departmental budget
- Take direct managerial responsibility for the site’s quality compliance and product quality (including First Article Inspection to AS9102 standard)
- Manage and develop direct reports through training and mentoring
- Supporting business improvement projects and future business development
For this role you will need:
- Professional qualification in quality management
- Relevant experience in quality management, operations, and manufacturing.
- Internal auditing experience to AS9100 standard
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in electronics manufacturing, with a strong focus on meeting the specific demands of the aerospace industry
