Emissions Technician

A degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a related subject may be beneficial, but it is not required
Celnor Group are looking for an Emissions Technician to join one of our specialist environmental monitoring teams based in the West Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a technical career within environmental monitoring. Previous emissions monitoring experience is not essential, as full training will be provided through the recognised MCERTS training scheme.
You do not need a degree to apply. We are primarily looking for someone practical, reliable and safety-conscious who is comfortable travelling, working outdoors and carrying out physically demanding work.
What you will do
- You will support the delivery of stack emissions monitoring projects at industrial and commercial sites across the UK.
- Working alongside experienced technicians and consultants, you will receive structured training to develop the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to progress within emissions monitoring.
- Supporting stack emissions monitoring and environmental sampling projects.
- Preparing, checking and maintaining monitoring and sampling equipment.
- Setting up equipment safely at client sites.
- Collecting samples and recording accurate monitoring data.
- Assisting with calculations, documentation and technical reports.
- Driving company vehicles to client sites across the UK.
- Loading, unloading and transporting technical equipment.
- Working safely at height, including on platforms and chimney stacks.
- Following documented procedures, health and safety requirements and UKAS-accredited processes.
- Completing the recognised MCERTS training and competency programme.
Who you are
- Previous experience within emissions monitoring is welcome but is not essential. Full technical training will be provided.
- Willing and able to travel throughout the UK.
- Comfortable staying away from home regularly, depending on project requirements.
- Happy working outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at height, sometimes on platforms up to approximately 60 metres.
- Practical, hands-on and interested in learning technical skills.
- Reliable, organised and able to work as part of a close knit team.
- Safety-conscious with good attention to detail.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
