About the Role
M.Nic Group is looking for an experienced Fire Door Service Engineer / Inspector to join our growing passive fire protection team.
You'll be responsible for carrying out fire door inspections, servicing, installations and remedial works across commercial and residential properties, ensuring all fire doors meet current legislation and British Standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fire door inspections and surveys in accordance with BM TRADA Q-Mark standards and current legislation.
- Complete servicing, maintenance and remedial works to existing fire doors.
- Install new fire door sets, frames, ironmongery and associated components.
- Adjust, repair or replace damaged fire door components to ensure compliance.
- Complete detailed digital inspection reports, identifying defects and recommending remedial works.
- Ensure all work complies with BS 8214, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, Building Regulations and other relevant standards.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, health & safety and customer service.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and other contractors.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Experience inspecting, servicing and repairing fire doors.
- Good understanding of fire door regulations and British Standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify compliance issues.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Desirable
- BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Inspector and/or Installer accreditation.
- NVQ or City & Guilds in Carpentry & Joinery.
- Experience with passive fire protection systems, including fire stopping.
- CSCS Card.
- FIRAS or other third-party certification experience.
