Chartered Building Surveyor — Full-Time (Hybrid, Didsbury)
We are a surveying practice with regular instruction flow, seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor for a role split across residential property and, in our sister team who operating in the hospitality sector (pubs, bars and licensed premises). On the residential side, this includes RICS Home Surveys (Level 2 and 3), valuations, disrepair surveys and damp and timber surveys. On the commercial side it includes building surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidations and defect diagnosis for hospitality and licensed premises.
This is a full-time, permanent PAYE role based at our Didsbury, Manchester office, with hybrid working: site inspections across the region, time in the office, and report writing from home as the workload allows.
Responsibilities
- Conduct residential inspections and produce RICS Home Survey reports (Level 2 and 3), valuations, disrepair surveys and damp and timber surveys.
- Undertake building surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidations and defect diagnosis across hospitality and licensed premises (pubs and bars).
- Carry out inspections using the practice's mobile inspection application.
- Work in accordance with the RICS Home Survey Standard and Rules of Conduct.
- Deliver reports within agreed timescales and address any quality-assurance points prior to sign-off.
- Liaise with the client on a summary call following the survey, and answer any follow-up questions as required.
Requirements
- Active MRICS with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Building Surveying experience across residential and commercial property; hospitality/licensed premises experience an advantage.
- RICS Registered Valuer status is highly desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport for site visits.
- Based within, or within reasonable commuting distance of, Greater Manchester or Cheshire.
