Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Motor Mechanic or MOT Tester to join our dynamic automotive service team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical issues accurately
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Repair or replace faulty components including brakes, suspension parts, exhaust systems, and engine parts with precision and efficiency
- Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements, ensuring vehicles meet safety and emissions standards before certification
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts during repairs
- Assist customers by explaining repair needs, providing estimates, and advising on maintenance schedules
- Handle heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components safely while adhering to health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Certification or qualification as an MOT Tester is highly desirable; relevant training can be provided for the right candidate
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality workmanship
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with team members and customers
