Teamtheme has been a leading provider of sports coaching in Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch for over 15 years. We partner with schools to create exciting and engaging sports programs for children, prioritizing both enjoyment and development.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, confident, and experienced coach with a background in working with children to join our team. As part of our team, you will deliver a range of sports sessions, including lunch clubs, PE lessons, after-school sports clubs, and dodgeball clubs during term time. You’ll also assist with running holiday clubs during school breaks, including half terms and the summer holidays.
We want someone who is not only passionate about sports but also has the ability to lead and inspire young people. With a history of working in schools, you’ll bring both authority and an approachable nature to the role, ensuring children have fun while developing their skills in a positive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver engaging, high-energy sports sessions for children of all ages
- Manage lunch clubs, PE lessons, after-school sports clubs, and dodgeball sessions
- Assist with organizing and running holiday clubs during half terms and summer breaks
- Work closely with experienced coaches and collaborate as part of a supportive team
- Ensure children feel safe, included, and motivated to participate in all activities
- Use your initiative to manage group dynamics and adapt activities as necessary
- Foster a positive and active learning environment through clear communication and leadership
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong background in teaching or coaching within a school environment
- Holds a Level 2 sports coaching qualification (Level 1 considered) or a degree in Sport
- Confident and assertive, with the ability to engage and lead groups of children
- Experienced in delivering structured lessons and activities, ideally within a school setting
- Able to quickly adapt and think on your feet in dynamic situations
- Energetic, personable, and approachable with excellent communication skills
- Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- DBS clearance is required (Teamtheme will support you in obtaining this)
- Willing to complete additional training, including First Aid and Safeguarding (provided by Teamtheme)
