Position Overview
Live It & Get Active CIC is looking for an enthusiastic, confident and reliable Dance Coach to lead sessions at our VIBE Summer HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) Club at St Matthew’s Community Centre in Hartlepool.
The role will run from Monday 17th to Thursday 20th August, 10:00am–2:00pm.
You will be responsible for delivering fun, energetic and engaging dance and movement-based activities for children aged approximately 5–11 years. You will be supported by other staff on site and will help ensure the club provides a safe, positive and enjoyable experience for all children attending.
This is ideal for someone with experience in dance, performing arts, coaching or working with children who is confident leading groups and creating engaging activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging dance and movement sessions for children aged 5–11
- Lead fun routines, games, challenges and confidence-building activities
- Adapt activities for different ages, abilities and confidence levels
- Work alongside other coaches to supervise and engage children throughout the club
- Support children during breaks and mealtimes
- Encourage teamwork, participation and positive behaviour
- Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment
- Ensure children remain actively engaged throughout the session
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety and HAF programme procedures
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, children and parents/carers
- Support with taking appropriate photos/content from activities where consent is in place
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people
- Confidence leading dance, movement or group activities
- Strong communication and group-management skills
- Reliable, energetic and proactive
- Passionate about providing positive experiences for children
- Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
- Dance coaching qualification or performance background
- First Aid qualification
- Previous experience delivering HAF programmes, holiday clubs or school activities
- Experience confidently leading groups of primary-aged children

This is a four-day role with the potential for further coaching opportunities with Live It & Get Active CIC across future holiday programmes and school-based provision.
