We are looking for an enthusiastic Communications Coordinator (External Engagement) ready to take on a challenging and rewarding permanent role.
As a key member of the University's external communications and engagement team, you will provide vital coordination and delivery support to help strengthen Manchester Met's relationships with external stakeholders and enhance its profile and reputation.
About the role
Working closely with colleagues across the Communications and Engagement team, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of external engagement and communications activity.
You will play an important role in ensuring that engagement activity is well organised, professionally delivered and effectively communicated, including across events, meetings, communications, and stakeholder interactions.
Ideal candidates will:
- Support the planning and delivery of external engagement activity including events, visits, meetings and stakeholder interactions.
- Create and edit content for a range of channels, including briefings, newsletters, web and social media.
- Prepare high-quality materials for internal colleagues and senior leaders, including briefings, agendas and presentations.
- Monitor news, policy developments and stakeholder activity to inform briefings and identify opportunities.
- Maintain stakeholder databases, engagement trackers and forward plans to support coordinated activity.
- Support the delivery of events, including logistics, invitations, attendee management and follow-up communications.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation activity to help demonstrate impact and support continuous improvement.
As a hybrid worker, you will be based at our All Saints Campus for part of the week, with flexibility to work remotely.
About you
A highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented communications professional with an interest in stakeholder engagement and external communications.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content and approaches for different audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
- Experience supporting events, meetings or communications and engagement activity.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- A proactive, enthusiastic and solutions-focused approach.
