UKEF Digital Data and Technology Group provides expertise in the following areas:

Digital Delivery Providing expertise in digital delivery. The Digital delivery team lead multi-disciplined teams to build digital services for UKEF. This role sits within the digital delivery team.
Product management - Providing expertise in product management. The product management team lead on ensuring digital services meet the needs of UKEF and end users and deliver the required outcomes.
User Centred Design Providing expertise in user research, business analysis, user experience design and service design.
Data and analytics Providing expertise in data management and data usage within UKEF.
Technology Providing development and technical expertise to build new digital services and manage the digital estate for UKEF.

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Lead Delivery Manager who can actively participate and contribute to the Departments growing digital capability.

represent and champion the role within your department, across government and in industry
lead the community of practice for this role and build capability and excellence (in an Agile, Lean practice)
be responsible for the recruitment of the right people to the right teams
support professional development and continuous improvement of your community
work with other heads of roles to promote effective cross-functional delivery
be a skilled team leader who can confidently communicate the value of the role to digital and non-digital stakeholders
be credible and influential across departments

Main activities

As a Grade 7 Senior Digital Delivery Manager, you will:

Apply experience of using agile tools and techniques to deliver UKEFs Digital services that align to the digital service standard, technology code of practice and Secure By Design principles. You may work across several products at once.
Will manage a digital service or services through discovery, alpha, beta and live states and oversea delivery management of our digital services. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience in iterative, user-centred delivery environments rather than traditional phase-gated product delivery.
Build and maintain multiple digital product or service teams or squads, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well in complex, transactional and regulatory areas.
Work with the Head of Digital Delivery to lead a team through the different phases of the delivery lifecycle (discovery, alpha, beta, live).
Work closely with stakeholders, users, technical, policy and operational experts to contribute towards, and deliver, the service vision. Youll understand the big picture of implementing policy goals
Communicate progress clearly with stakeholders at all levels across UKEF
Coach and mentor both team members and others to help them apply the most appropriate agile tools and techniques
Set the pace of delivery across services, managing dependencies to minimise disruptions, focusing the team on what is most important
Ensure teams have the right working environment and the tools they need to deliver value based on what users need
Actively lead in the delivery manager community learning, sharing knowledge and bringing in good practice
Work to create a diverse, inclusive, supportive culture that stimulates innovation and enables high-performing teams to build and sustain high quality products
Work within the UKEF Project Management Governance Framework for elements of the service that are in 'Project mode', including monthly highlight reporting, financial reporting and checkpoint signoffs
Operate and iterating live digital services within a service team that may be supporting more than one live digital service.
Use your experience in delivering complex, transactional digital services to help set delivery standards and principles.
Oversee the delivery of the team with delivery metrics (e.g. burn rate, ticket quality, pink points in services development lifecycle, etc)
Inform team workloads, set expectations of delivery timescales and tracking delivery, inform the unblocking of issues etc.
You can act as the escalation point for operational issues and can fix complex operational issues.
