Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Agency Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to clients in various care settings. The role involves supporting individuals with diverse needs, including elderly residents, those with dementia, or patients requiring specialised medical attention. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support with medication administration in accordance with prescribed care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a calm and safe environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe living space
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent needs, including administering first aid if trained
- Assist with specialised care needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia care, hospice support, or assisted living assistance
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Experience in Alzheimer’s, dementia, or hospice care is advantageous
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and case management principles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or mobility support
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining care plans and documentation
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills tailored for caring for vulnerable individuals
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients or attending appointments
- Basic first aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
