Introduction and overall purpose of the role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Bid Writer to join our Client Solutions team. This role is pivotal in supporting business development and retention targets by leading the creation of compelling, high-quality written content for sales responses and proposals across various service lines and market sectors.
You will take ownership of complex, high-value bids, manage and develop a team of bid writers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our bid processes and collateral. You will also be responsible for the overarching quality and robust review process of tenders being submitted.
You will be a confident communicator and team leader, capable of influencing stakeholders and ensuring compliance with internal governance. Your writing will reflect win themes and customer benefits, tailored to meet specific client objectives.
- Writing, reviewing, and re-writing bid responses.
- Leading the creation of compelling and successful bids.
- Managing and developing a team of bid writers, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
- Responsible for the overarching quality and robust review process of tenders being submitted.
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to understand project requirements.
- Conduct in-depth research to inform bid content.
- Maintain a library of bid responses for future reference.
- Ensure compliance with all bid procedures and deadlines.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company's offerings.
- Monitor and report on bid performance.
- Lead the continuous improvement of bid process and content.
- Manage the written and editorial aspects of the bid proposal development process.
- Mentor and support junior bid writers and contribute to their development.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to shape bid strategy and win themes.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the BD Knowledge Hub.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have Right to Work in the UK
- Be educated to a degree/HND or equivalent
- Be experienced in a bid/proposal management environment with clear experience in leading winning bids
- Impeccable time management, allowing prioritisation of a complex and varied workload
- Strong leadership skills in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Experience in leading, influencing and developing cross-functional teams in a bid environmentWorked in facilities bid management
- Good written and spoken-word communicator
- Experienced in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
