Commissioning General Manager – Luxury Nursing Home

Are you an experienced senior care leader with a passion for commissioning and opening exceptional care services? We are supporting the appointment of a Commissioning General Manager to lead the launch and successful opening of a luxury nursing home in Glasgow.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded care professional to take full ownership of a brand-new, high-end nursing service from the earliest stages through to full operational success. You will play a pivotal role in establishing the home’s reputation, building a high-performing team, and creating an outstanding environment where residents receive exceptional standards of care.
As Commissioning General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the home’s pre-opening and operational journey, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the service opens successfully, achieves excellent regulatory outcomes, and becomes a leading provider within the local market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the commissioning and opening of a luxury nursing home from pre-opening through to full occupancy
- Develop and implement the operational strategy, policies, and procedures required for a successful launch
- Recruit, inspire, and develop a high-performing team to deliver exceptional care standards
- Establish strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and local stakeholders
- Drive occupancy growth through effective community engagement, networking, and relationship management
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain outstanding quality standards
- Manage budgets, resources, staffing, and overall operational performance
- Create a positive culture focused on excellence, hospitality, and resident wellbeing
About You:
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager, General Manager, Home Manager, or senior operational leader with a strong background in luxury care environments. You will have a proven track record of successfully opening, developing, and improving high-quality nursing or residential services.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience commissioning a new care home or nursing service
- A strong background in nursing care, luxury care, or premium elderly care environments
- Proven experience achieving occupancy growth and building strong local reputations
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality frameworks
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive sustainable performance
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
