We're looking for an enthusiastic Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our growing production team. Whether you're already experienced with industrial sewing machines or have transferable manufacturing skills and a keen eye for detail, we'd love to hear from you.
This is an opportunity to learn a highly specialised trade that very few people in the world possess.
The Role
Working as part of our production team, you'll be responsible for producing parachute components and assemblies using heavy-duty industrial sewing machinery.
Your work will include:
- Manufacturing parachute harnesses and container systems
- Sewing high-strength webbing, Cordura® fabrics and technical textiles
- Following engineering drawings, work instructions and manufacturing specifications
- Conducting quality inspections throughout the production process
- Maintaining exceptionally high standards of workmanship
- Working collaboratively with our Quality and Production Managers
- Helping ensure every product meets our strict quality standards
What We're Looking For
Ideally you'll have:
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines (walking foot, bar tack or similar preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Pride in producing work to the highest standard
- Good manual dexterity
- The ability to follow technical drawings and written instructions
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- A collaborative team player who works effectively with colleagues across the business.
Experience within any of the following industries would be advantageous, but is not essential, as full training will be provided:
- Aerospace
- Defence
- Marine
- Automotive
- Technical textiles
- Upholstery
- Sail making
- Outdoor equipment
- Safety equipment
- Industrial sewing
Previous parachute manufacturing experience is not required—full product-specific training will be provided.
