About Us
We are a growing steel fabrication business specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke steelwork for residential and commercial clients. Having grown steadily over the past three years, we're looking for an organised and motivated individual to become a key member of our team.
This isn't just an office administration role. You'll work closely with the business owner & contracts manager, helping to manage projects from initial enquiry through to installation, with the opportunity to develop into a senior operational role as the company continues to grow.
The Role
As Project Coordinator & Estimating Assistant, you'll help keep projects organised, customers informed and the workshop running efficiently.
Working alongside the business owner, you'll assist with quotations, scheduling, ordering materials and tracking the progress of multiple fabrication projects.
No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and taking responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing quotations and estimates
- Carry out site surveys (training provided where required)
- Maintain project schedules and job trackers
- Coordinate workshop production with fabrication staff
- Order steel, fixings and other materials
- Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries
- Keep customers updated throughout their projects
- Schedule installations and deliveries
- Raise purchase orders and maintain project paperwork
- Monitor stock levels and workshop consumables
- Support the day-to-day running of the business
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple projects
- Has excellent communication skills
- Can work independently and take initiative
- Is confident using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook)
- Has a full UK driving licence
- Has experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing or fabrication (preferred but not essential)
Experience reading technical drawings or working within the steel industry would be an advantage, although full training will be provided for the right person.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary
- Training and development
- Opportunities for career progression
- Friendly and supportive working environment
- A varied role where you'll make a genuine impact on the business
- Long-term opportunity to grow into a senior management position
Why Join Us?
We're a small but ambitious company where your ideas and contribution will genuinely matter. You'll work directly with the owner & contracts manager, gain experience across every part of the business and have the opportunity to develop into a key leadership role as the company grows.
If you're looking for a career rather than just another job, we'd love to hear from you.
