Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Soft Landscaper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments through a variety of landscaping tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, applying both horticultural knowledge and mechanical skills to create and sustain beautiful, functional landscapes. The position is suitable for individuals with a passion for gardening, construction experience, and a keen eye for detail. All roles are paid, including internships, and require a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Conduct soft landscape duties,
- Operate a range of power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently to carry out landscaping tasks.
- Use machinery including excavators and irrigation systems for installation, repair, and maintenance purposes.
- Assist with construction projects involving garden structures, pathways, or retaining walls, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Perform routine inspections of outdoor areas to identify issues requiring attention or repair.
- Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute landscape projects according to client specifications and environmental considerations.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently during all activities on-site.
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture with a strong understanding of plant care and garden design principles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools, irrigation systems, and construction machinery such as excavators.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools including spades, shears, trimmers, and other gardening implements.
- Ability to perform physical tasks requiring lifting, bending, digging, and operating machinery safely over extended periods.
- Construction experience is advantageous for undertaking structural or hardscape elements within landscaping projects.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Strong teamwork ethic combined with effective communication skills.
