Role Overview
The Vehicle Progressor plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient preparation of vehicles for sale and handover. This position supports both the Sales and Aftersales departments by coordinating vehicle readiness, managing administrative tasks, and maintaining excellent communication with internal teams and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Preparation & Logistics
- Manage the progress of vehicles from arrival through to handover readiness
- Carry out site preparation duties including:
- Road testing vehicles
- Battery charging and rotation management
- Ensuring vehicles are clean, presentable, and correctly located
- Monitor vehicle status and highlight delays or issues proactively
Supplier & Contractor Coordination
- Liaise with third-party contractors (e.g. valeters, bodyshops and service)
- Book and track work such as repairs, MOTs, servicing, and cosmetic prep
- Ensure all work is completed within agreed timeframes and to required standards
Customer & Internal Communication
- Assist with incoming and outgoing telephone calls
- Provide updates to the sales team on vehicle readiness
- Support customer updates where required regarding delivery timelines
Administration & Compliance
- Complete general paperwork and administrative tasks accurately
- Maintain up-to-date vehicle records and preparation logs
- Ensure all documentation (service history, V5s, invoices, handover packs) is complete and compliant
- Support stock management systems and internal databases
Additional Duties
- Assist with vehicle stock checks and forecourt organisation
- Support handover preparation (number plates, fuel levels, final checks)
- Work closely with Sales Executives to prioritise sold vehicles
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Ensure adherence to health & safety standards on-site
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within the motor trade (preferred but not essential)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills (both phone and face-to-face)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Basic IT skills (email, spreadsheets, dealer management systems)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)

Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
