We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook/Assistant Cook to join our culinary team on a self employed basis.
This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and supporting the head chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary expertise, leadership qualities, and a passion for food presentation and safety.
This position is a self employed position. We are looking for a cook to run the kitchen every Monday and Tuesday aswell as working another day or two assisting the head chef, this would include working at least one weekend day. Duties Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards Supervise junior kitchen staff and ensure smooth kitchen operations during service Manage food production processes, including portion control and presentation standards Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen Oversee food storage, inventory management, and waste reduction measures Ensure all dishes are prepared efficiently to meet service times without compromising quality Serve as a key point of contact for the kitchen team during busy periods, ensuring effective communication and coordination Experience Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a cafe/restaurant or hospitality setting Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities and team management skills Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary trends Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards Experience with food production processes and restaurant service operations Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential; a passion for delivering outstanding customer service is required This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary career within a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in hospitality.
