Here at The Yew Tree Inn, we are looking for an experienced and personable Senior Supervisor/Assistant Manager to join our independent country pub. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering outstanding guest experiences, enjoys leading from the front, and wants to be part of a business where quality, service and people are at the heart of everything we do.
As an independent venue, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We value personality, initiative and genuine hospitality, giving our team the opportunity to make a real impact every day.
About the Role
This is a hands-on operational position. You'll spend the majority of your time on the restaurant and bar floor, ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and exceptional service while supporting and developing the team around you.
Unlike many management roles, this position involves very little administration, making it perfect for someone who enjoys being actively involved in service rather than spending their day behind a computer.
This is a permanent contract for 30- 45 hours per week (candidate-dependent), with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays in line with the needs of the business.
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll help maintain the high standards our guests have come to expect while fostering a positive, supportive and professional working environment.

- Has a genuine passion for hospitality and attention to detail.
- Takes pride in maintaining consistently high standards of service and presentation.
- Enjoys coaching and motivating others to reach their potential.
- Understands that memorable guest experiences are created through teamwork.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading service across the restaurant and bar, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Supporting, motivating and developing the front-of-house team.
- Delivering warm, genuine and attentive hospitality to every guest.
- Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance.
- Supporting the General Manager in achieving operational excellence and driving a positive team culture.
