Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing support and guidance within a day centre environment, This role involves mentoring, assisting with daily activities, and creating a positive environment that encourages growth and independence. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you support, working within a supportive and professional environment.
This position also requires chaperone duty on the transport.
candidates require a FULL uk driving licence with D1 entitlement which entitles you to drive 17 seat mini bus
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to adults with learning disabilities ensuring their individual needs are met with empathy and understanding
- Assist with daily routines, including educational activities, leisure pursuits, and personal care when necessary
- Mentor and motivate individuals to develop confidence, social skills, and independence
- Support behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver cohesive support plans
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress made
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times
Requirements
- Experience or interest in working with adults with learning disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire confidence and trust
- Passion for teaching and supporting personal development
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with a patient approach to individual needs
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a dynamic environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements
- Relevant qualifications or training in supporting roles are advantageous but not essential

Hours Wednesday - Friday 9.30am - 5pm
You will need to be flexible with hours to cover holidays for support and driving hours.
Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
