Position Overview:
As a Pharmacy Counter Assistant at Browns Pharmacy Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing essential services to our customers, assisting the pharmacy team in day-to-day operations. You will be the first point of contact for many of our customers, ensuring they receive outstanding service and support. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth in the pharmacy field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers promptly and professionally, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle customer inquiries, prescription drop-offs, and collections while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to pharmacy regulations.
- Handle over-the-counter (OTC) medication sales, offering guidance and information on product selection.
- Maintain a clean and organised pharmacy area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform stock management, including inventory checks, restocking shelves, and reporting shortages.
- Process and manage prescription orders accurately.
- Operate the cash register and handle financial transactions accurately, ensuring adherence to payment procedures.
- Offer basic healthcare advice and refer customers to the pharmacist for more complex inquiries.
- Provide support in promoting health and wellness initiatives, such as flu vaccination programs or smoking cessation efforts.
- Participate in continuous training and development to stay current with pharmaceutical regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medications is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow direction from pharmacists.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to pharmacy regulations.
- Flexibility to work a variety of days, including every second Saturday.
