We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Level 3 qualified Assistant Room Leader to join our friendly nursery team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example, supporting colleagues and helping to create outstanding learning experiences for young children.

What you'll be doing
As an Assistant Room Leader, you'll work closely with the Room Leader and Nursery Leadership Team to ensure the highest standards of care, education and wellbeing are delivered every day.
You'll:
- Support the day-to-day leadership and organisation of your nursery room, helping to create a calm, welcoming and inspiring environment for children and colleagues.
- Lead engaging, play-based learning experiences that support every child's individual interests, development and wellbeing in line with the EYFS.
- Take an active role in observing, assessing and planning for children's learning, ensuring high-quality learning journeys and meaningful next steps.
- Act as a Key Person, building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families while supporting each child's individual development.
- Support the Room Leader in maintaining consistently high standards of practice, ensuring routines run smoothly and children receive exceptional care.
- Mentor, support and positively role model best practice for Early Years Practitioners and newer members of the team.
- Help create an inclusive, stimulating environment where children are encouraged to become confident, curious and independent learners.
- Promote safeguarding, health and safety and children's wellbeing at all times, ensuring nursery policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Contribute ideas to enhance the learning environment and support the continuous development of the nursery.
- Step confidently into the Room Leader's responsibilities when required, ensuring continuity of care and leadership.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A full and relevant DfE-approved Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
- Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.
- A sound knowledge of the EYFS, child development and observation, assessment and planning.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- The confidence to support and guide colleagues while leading by example.
- A warm, professional and child-centred approach with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding Early Years education.
