Datashredders are one of the UKs leading confidential waste specialists and have a vacancy for an HGV Class 2 Driver operating from our Hostmoor Avenue site in March. You will be responsible for collecting confidential documents and media from around the UK, offering an on & off-site destruction service to our customers.
You will be working solo or with a driver’s assistant interacting with customers & delivering a gold level of customer service.
The Job:
Your role will be working as a HGV Class 2 Shred Truck Driver, however, we offer training on a wide range of vehicles!
- Early start from AM, Day shifts averaging 50-55 hours per week
- Full Training provided on all Class 2 vehicles, giving you experience in all departments
- Experienced and new drivers will be given an opportunity to showcase their hard work and skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Have a good knowledge of the rules of the road and the regulations specified in the Highway Code & always abide by them & the Road Traffic Act 1988.
- Have good knowledge of Road Transport Working Time Directive & Drivers Hours Regulations & abide by them.
- Ensure that Defect Checks are completed to a high level and any issues are made apparent to the Transport Manager.
- Always adhere to site specific rules & follow any instructions given to you on site inductions.
- Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness-both interior & exterior.
- Always ensure you represent Datashredders in the best light. Whether this be with customers, driving or when on customer premises, we always expect professionalism and politeness.
- Demonstrate a safe approach to driving our vehicles and operating all machinery.
- Completing paperwork and ensuring that the paperwork is neat, tidy and clear for all parties.
- Collection of confidential information and materials ready for destruction.
The Person:
· Excellent customer service skills
· Diligent and hard-working
· Hold a UK driving license (with a maximum of 6 points).
· A can-do and positive attitude who is willing to learn and ask for help when needed
· Ability to work on their own and have initiative
· Team ethic
· Physically fit and open to manual handling as sacks can weigh up to 35kg and bins up to 100kg.
