Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
- Support the team in ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Help with food production, including portioning, garnishing, and plating
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety regulations
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the kitchen by assisting with various tasks as required
- Support with supervising junior staff or trainees when necessary
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times
- Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Basic culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques
- Experience with food production and serving in a restaurant or similar environment is advantageous
- Strong team management skills and leadership qualities for supervising junior staff or trainees
- Excellent organisational skills with an ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
- Previous experience in supervising or managing teams within a kitchen setting is a plus
