We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Leisure Vehicle Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will design, install, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage DC power systems and 230V mains AC installations across custom campervans, motorhomes, and caravans. You will work directly with industry-leading off-grid equipment to build safe, robust, and reliable power setups for our customers' adventures.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete full electrical installations on leisure vehicles, including 12V/24V DC systems and 230V mains AC hookups.
- Install and program off-grid power components: lithium (LiFePO4) battery banks, DC-to-DC chargers, MPPT solar charge controllers, and pure sine wave inverter-chargers.
- Wire mains shore power inlets, consumer units, RCD/MCB breakers, 12V fuse blocks, and auxiliary switches.
- Integrate smart monitoring systems, digital touchscreens, tank senders, diesel heaters, and 12V refrigeration.
- Perform full system testing, isolation checks, voltage drop calculations, and fault diagnostics using multi-meters and diagnostic software (e.g., VictronConnect).
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, wiring regulations, and company quality control protocols.
Requirements & Experience
- Essential: Proven experience in 12V/24V auto-electrics, leisure vehicle power installations, or marine electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage DC wiring, cable sizing, fused protection, and grounding principles.
- Familiarity with 230V AC mains installations, consumer units, and inverter setups within mobile applications.
- Proficiency in using multi-meters, wire crimpers, heat shrink tools, and general power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret complex wiring schematics and electrical circuit diagrams.
- Desirable: Formal qualifications in Auto Electrics, City & Guilds 18th Edition (2382), or NCC (National Caravan Council) Habitation Electrical certification.
