Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, hands-on Cafe Team Leader who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced setting. This role requires someone who leads from the front, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves across all departments, and delivers exceptional hospitality while keeping the team motivated and focused during peak rushes.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Motivation: Lead by example on the floor, inspiring and motivating team members across all shifts to maintain high standards, energy, and morale.
- Guest Hosting & Service: Act as the face of the cafe, welcoming guests, managing front-of-house flow, and resolving guest issues swiftly to ensure a warm, memorable experience.
- Fast-Paced Decision Making: Make rapid, clear-headed operational decisions during heavy rushes to maintain service speed, quality, and smooth floor management.
- Cross-Department Support: Jump in wherever needed—whether supporting the barista bar, clearing tables, helping in the kitchen, or tackling stock—demonstrating a true "all hands on deck" work ethic.
- Innovation & Improvement: Bring fresh, practical ideas to the table to enhance guest experience, streamline cafe workflows, and drive menu or operational improvements.
- Daily Floor Operations: Assist with opening/closing procedures, daily briefings, staff task delegation, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Previous supervisory or lead experience in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant, or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Hands-On Work Ethic: A hard-working, proactive attitude with a strong desire to support all departments without hesitation.
- Agility & Decisiveness: Ability to think on your feet, solve problems instantly, and adapt to changing floor priorities under pressure.
- People & Hosting Skills: Outgoing personality with natural leadership qualities, strong communication skills, and a passion for hosting guests.
- Creative Mindset: Enthusiastic about bringing original ideas to elevate team engagement and daily business operations.
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
