Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. This vital role supports the smooth operation of our kitchen by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and basic food preparation. Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, equipment, and utensils to uphold health and safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling, and basic ingredient handling under supervision
- Support chefs with kitchen organization, including stock rotation and storage management
- Ensure all dishes, cookware, and utensils are properly cleaned and stored after use
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to keep the kitchen tidy and efficient
- Follow health and safety guidelines consistently to create a safe working environment for all staff
- Support serving staff during busy periods by preparing ingredients or clearing tables as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm is key!
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques such as washing, peeling, or chopping ingredients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning new skills
- Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and health & safety regulations is desirable but not mandatory
- A genuine interest in hospitality and developing culinary skills
