We are seeking a dynamic and organized Business Administrator to join our team and support the business owners in driving operational excellence. This vital role involves managing daily administrative functions, overseeing team coordination, and ensuring smooth office operations. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to support our organizational goals. As a Business Administrator, you will be the backbone of our administrative processes, fostering a productive and efficient work environment that empowers our team to succeed.
This role is office based in a beautiful converted barn in a village outside Baldock - own transport essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and organizing company documentation.
- Oversee office operations to ensure a well-organized and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
- Support teams with clerical and administrative duties, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Handle human resources functions such as onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with HR-related inquiries.
- Assist to manage invoicing, expense tracking, and financial record keeping.
- Maintain effective communication across departments through phone etiquette, email correspondence, and in-person interactions.
- Support supervisory responsibilities by overseeing office supplies inventory, coordinating office maintenance and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Skills
- Proven experience with office management, clerical tasks, and administrative support functions.
- Event, hospitality or IT experience an advantage but not essential
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to facilitate clear interactions across teams, clients and suppliers.
- Confident with IT, systems and processes. Experience of ISO an advantage.
- Demonstrated team management experience with the ability to supervise staff effectively.
- Knowledge of human resources practices including onboarding, employee records management, and HR compliance.
- Exceptional phone etiquette coupled with professional demeanour to handle inquiries confidently.
