Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the smooth and efficient running of all kitchen production areas
- Supporting chefs with food preparation
- Cleaning and maintaining pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Ensuring all kitchen work areas meet HACCP and food safety standards
- Organising and storing crockery, cutlery, glassware and equipment
- Keeping kitchen floors clean and safe through regular sweeping and mopping
- Managing waste responsibly, including emptying bins when full
- Checking and maintaining the condition of kitchen equipment
- Reporting any equipment faults to the Head Chef and helping arrange repairs
- Keeping storerooms stocked, clean and well-organised
- Minimising breakages and maintaining high standards of care
- Following daily and weekly cleaning rotas
- Attending company training sessions when required
- Accepting, checking and correctly storing food deliveries
- Assisting in other areas of the pub when needed
- Using cleaning chemicals safely and correctly
- Ensuring the kitchen is fully prepared and clean for the following day
