Role Purpose
Notts County Football Club is seeking a reliable, hardworking and experienced Matchday Carvery Chef to join our catering team for the 2026/27 season.
This is a fast-paced, customer-facing role, ideal for someone with previous carvery experience who can consistently deliver excellent food and service on busy matchdays. You will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality carvery meals, maintaining excellent portion control to minimise waste while ensuring every guest enjoys a great experience.
The successful candidate will support both front and back of house operations on a match-by-match basis. You will work both independently and as part of the wider catering team, preparing and serving food across multiple hospitality areas within the venue.
Applicants must have previous experience working as a chef in a high-volume environment, a sound understanding of food safety, health and safety, and COSHH procedures, and hold a minimum Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality carvery meals to hospitality guests.
- Deliver excellent customer service while serving from the carvery deck.
- Maintain consistent portion control to minimise food waste.
- Work flexibly across a variety of kitchens and hospitality areas within the venue.
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation and cleanliness.
- Record food temperatures and complete all required food safety checks.
- Comply with all health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH procedures.
- Ensure all food is correctly labelled and date-coded.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues throughout service.
Skills & Qualities
- Previous experience as a carvery chef is essential.
- Minimum three years' experience working as a chef in a high-volume catering or hospitality environment (five years desirable).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and perform well under pressure.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Positive attitude with a strong team ethic.
- Smart, professional and well-presented at all times.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible with a strong work ethic.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (minimum).
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH procedures.
- Ability to work matchdays throughout the 2026/27 season.
